Cognizance of collective bargaining and its benefits in relation to teachers welfare and working condition in public secondary schools in Delta State

The study focus mainly on the cognizance of collective bargaining and its benefits in relation to teacher’s welfare working condition public secondary school Delta State, Nigeria. Two research questions were asked answered regard extent awareness State teachers principle State. One hundred twelve randomly selected from fourteen schools Central Senatorial Districtin questionnaire which was rated a five point Likert Scale administered as main instrument reliability coefficient 0.90. Descriptive statistical procedures employed analysis data. revealed that moderate respondents not all members teachers’ union. resolution issues relating better conditions, welfare, promotion, recognition reward staff done through bargaining. Furthermore, some findings condition, promotion. recommends should have clear understanding bargaining; finding out their grievances discussing various leading addressing general disputes just focusing wage increment only.   Key words: Collective bargaining, union, education.
